Louisa M Alcott |
| |
Life Letters and Journals |
| |
Boston
Roberts Brothers, 1891. Hard Cover. Fine/Fine. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾"
tall. Life Letters and Journals, by Louisa M Alcott, Author of
Little Women and More. Feed your intellect with this tasty book.
This gem of literature appears to be signed by the author "Your Old
Friend, L M Alcott" in 1887. I recently recieved and email from
someone who told me, "The book was published in 1889, -- the year
after Louisa May Alcott died." It was signed by a previous owner, "C
F Buck on Christmas of 1892" The authors portrait, sits
distinguished above her (faximile) autograph. It ends with an 8
page, Roberts Brothers Publishers Catalogue, from Boston, Mass. In
it, are advertisements for her other books, some with unique
illustrations, for "Little Women" "Little Men" "Aunt Jo's Scrap-Bag"
"Lulu's Library" and "The Spinning-Wheel Series" (Little Women was
at $1.50 when this book was published!) This is a great addition to
any serious book collection. For a reference, I did find a later
printing of this book at http://dogbert.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=74421923
Their version is an 1892 copy, selling for $750.00 and mine is 1891.
